I... don't know what's going on with this comm, but I'm still collecting art.

So here's what I've collected in the last 3 months - I've pared it down to only the best pieces, otherwise it would be almost twice as long, and mostly involving Snape, which is not what this newsletter is for.

Serious amounts of fanart links below the cut.Collapse )

Meeeeerry Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/whatever.

-Don't Mess With Slytherins by wanderingbusker. (Remus/Bellatrix. ADULT.)
“Expecting someone else?” she asks, her voice like saccharin. He winces as her finger once again strokes his cheek, and tries to pull away, but he can hardly move.

-Fleurs de Sel by zizi_dickinson. (Bella/Narcissa. ADULT.) It was beautiful. It was perfect. Just like her.
-He's been pretty much yellow and I've been kind of blue, but all I can see is red, red, red. by interfection. (Luna/Lucius. ADULT.) Her day-to-day moments can be found filed here, lost in a mess of crescent moons under fingernails, teeth the color of pearls, and the all-encompassing circle around the iris of the eye. White, Luna decides, is the basis, the soul if you believe in such a thing, of human beings; a clean slate, constantly wiping itself clean just to clutter everything back up again. Again and again.
-How the Dementors Came to Be by catsintheattic. (Dementors. R.) She grew wary of the tiny flecks of emotion that preceded the swelling of the soul, the little images of happiness and joy that she could take before that last mighty swallow. She collected them all, a huntress who knew to cherish the smaller game as well as the big kill. (I know, I know, not really death eaters, but of interest to death eaters.)
Poison Dart by Kennahijja. (Lucius/Scorpius. ADULT.) Lucius put his hand over the boy's mouth, hard. "You have nothing to feel sorry for." He met the hurt grey eyes straight on. "You are a Malfoy, and Malfoys rise above adversity. You will be fine tomorrow. As for tonight, you'll do what needs to be done."
He would have the blood of whoever was responsible for this, he promised himself. For both of them.

-She Knew He Would Return by vegablack62. (Bellatrix, Augusta Longbottom. PG.) The Lestrange woman was no dissembler, though. She savoured the description of the degradations inflicted on Frank and Alice, and she didn't care who knew it.
-The Playroom by calanthe_fics. (Draco/Harry, Draco/Bellatrix. ADULT.) “Bring your dollies, pretty girl,” the monster says, its voice like rusty knives on tender skin, hacking at the crumbling resistance of the boy’s sanity.
-The Little Prince by regasssa. (Draco/Fenrir. ADULT) Cold. He was so very cold. Icy rainwater poured incessantly through his already saturated hair. It would have blinded him if fear hadn’t already. This wasn’t happening. It wasn’t.
-Anal Smoothie by Shae_loves_crackfic. (Lucius/Narcissa. ADULT.) She was pretty smooth. Lucius was pretty smooth. In fact, their entire existence was smooth. What could be more relaxing and fun than a nice smoothie?
-Blood Lust by a_shadow_there. (Bella/Rita. ADULT.) “And we won’t tell anyone, will we Rita?”
Rita could feel the heat of Bella’s breath on her skin as she stated the terms of their agreement.

-Even Old Dogs Learn New Tricks by melfinatheblue. (Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy. ADULT.) "I've grown used to watching my every word, my every motion. I must always be a Malfoy, whatever my thoughts. But in front of him... Even my thoughts are not safe. His curse still makes my muscles shake, even now, so many hours after it was first cast. I must learn to control even my thoughts, or things will not end well."
-Nowhere to Look by Beward the Smirk. (Fenrir/Draco. ADULT.) Harry hoped against long forsaken hope that Greyback and Malfoy would be gone. When he opened his eyes again they were still there. They weren’t just a mere illusion. They were real.
-The Hand We're Dealt by Anonymous at hp_summersmut. (Lucius/Remus, Narcissa/Lily, Severus/Sirius, Lucius/Sirius. ADULT.)
"Oh puppy," Lucius whispers against his ear, "I know exactly what sort of punishment you need."

-Wedding Gift by softly_sweetly. (Lucius/Harry. ADULT.) "Lucius… please…"
Pulling Potter's head back, Lucius slammed it against the mirror again, making Potter cry out as shards of the mirror embedded in his cheek. "You will remain silent, if you wish to keep your life."

-Unbreakable by gallifreygrl10 (Snape, Narcissa and Bellatrix, G.)
-Sweetest Taste of Sin by Miss-Uni (Bellatrix, G.)
-Red Mug by Expell-HUN (Snape, G.)
-Christmas Snape by Vizen (Snape, G.)
-Potion Master Will Teach You by Chiburaska (Snape, G.)

Real Men of Evil
Today, we salute you, Dingane kaSenzangakhona.
Dingane kaSenzangakhona Zulu, commonly referred to as Dingane or Dingaan, was a Zulu chief who became king in 1828, after assassinating his half-brother Shaka with the help of another brother, Umthlangana, as well as Shaka's advisor Mbopa. Dingane lacked Shaka's military and leadership skills, and the cracks in the kingdom began to show as rebel chiefs broke away. These cracks were exacerbated by armed conflict with the newly arrived Voortrekkers, Dutch pioneers who were moving further into South Africa. In November of 1837, Dingane met with Piet Retief, one of the colonial leaders, and, in return for their recovering some stolen cattle, signed a deed of cession of lands. Two days of feasting later, on 6 February 1838, Dingane killed Retief's diplomatic party. At the same time, his forces ambushed and killed Retief's trek party, about 500 Boers, including men, women and children. Dingane then sent his army with instructions to seek out and kill the other group of Voortrekkers under Andries Pretorius. The Zulu impis found the Voortrekker encampment and attacked, but were dealt a crushing defeat in the ensuing Battle of Blood River with an estimated 3000 Zulus killed and only three Voortrekkers slightly injured. This effectively ended Zulu military superiority in South Africa. In January 1840, Pretorius, with a force of 400 burghers, helped Mpande in his revolt against Dingane, which resulted in his overthrow and death. Dingane was assassinated in Hlatikhulu Forest while on a military expedition.
So here's to you, Dingane kaSenzangakhona. Thanks to your catastrophic leadership skills, underprepared men with improbable names and delusions of grandeur have someone to look up to.

Hey guys - sorry we've been inactive for the last couple of months. Real-life commitments have been eating us alive.

In the meantime, I (vikingcarrot) have still been collecting up all the Death Eater-related fanart each week, and so I give you a special post of fanart-only.

It's all divided up by character, and there are 120+ pieces for you to sift through at your leisure. Enjoy. :)

-Bathilda Bagshot's G-spot by Shae_loves_crackfic. (Bathilda Bagshot/Nagini. ADULT.) There was a reason why no one ever visited Bathilda Bagshot. It wasn't that she was deranged, though she certainly was, it was the fact that no matter what she always seemed to make visitors uncomfortable.
She didn't do it intentionally, but after she hit the hundred-year mark she stopped caring about being proper and started speaking her mind. And nowadays there was only one thing on her mind: her G-spot.

-Gradually by Envinyatar15. (Bella/Snape. ADULT.) At night all cats are black, and the day's hostility fades into the darkness.
-Love Like Fire by Snapelike. (Snape/Lucius. ADULT.) Stepping back, surprised, Lucius wonders what has elicited the change in behaviour. It is not so much that Severus has left their Dark Lord's side. It is not that he suddenly has decided to become a professor, catering to the intolerable Muggle-lover Dumbledore's whims. On the bottom line, it is all about Lucius, about what Lucius thinks and feels and wants. And Severus has betrayed him, made a fool out of him by changing sides.
-The Fine Line (Between Pleasure and Pain by Anonymous at Fall_fantasia. (Bellatrix Lestrange/Rodolphus Lestrange, Bellatrix Lestrange/Voldemort. ADULT.) "Bella," Voldemort interjected, "you are here to learn from me, are you not? Do not question my authority, or beg for mercy. I expect total obedience and fealty from my Death Eaters. Surely you know this."
-The Right Shade by duco_lacuna. (Snape, Lucius, Rodolphus, mentions of Bellatrix. PG.) “You’re going to what?” Rodolphus snarled as he burst into the room to glare suspiciously at Lucius and Severus looking at a book.

-Flight of the Prince by LilyHBP (Snape, G.)

Today, we examine you, George Gordon.
George Washington Gordon (October 5, 1836 – August 9, 1911) was an officer in the Confederate States Army, rising to be the youngest brigadier general in the Confederacy by the last year of the war. After the war, he practiced law in Pulaski, Tennessee, where the Ku Klux Klan was formed. He became one of the Klan's first members. In 1867, Gordon became the Klan's first Grand Dragon for the Realm of Tennessee, and wrote its "Precept," a book describing its organization, purpose, and principles. The historical record includes an 1868 proclamation by Gordon. In it, he warns that the Klan had been "fired into three times," and that if the blacks "make war upon us they must abide by the awful retribution that will follow." Gordon was elected as a Democrat to the Sixtieth, Sixty-first, and Sixty-second Congresses. He served from March 4, 1907 until his death in Memphis in 1911.
So here's to you, George Gordon. Without your blind racism and ingenuity in channeling it, modern honkies across the country would have to channel their hatred and violence without those shiny white sheets.

-Whenever Dark Draws Near by stonegrad. (Lucius/Harry. ADULT.)
No, not the eyes, it's the look; the one that makes the skin between his shoulder blades itch, that settles like a dead weight in his stomach, hot and cold all at once, never failing to make his head spin. This is how Harry knows – because when it all comes down to it, there's never been anyone else in the world who's looked at him with the same intensity that Lucius Malfoy does.

Real Women of Evil
Today, we salute you, Isabella of France.
Isabella (1295 – August 22, 1358), only surviving daughter of French King Philip IV, was promised as an infant to Edward II of England, in the hopes of healing the rift between their countries. At the time of her marriage, Isabella was probably about twelve and was described as "the beauty of beauties...in the kingdom if not in all Europe." Edward, for his part, looked every inch the perfect Plantagenet King, but was internally weak, and paid little attention to his young bride and bestowed her wedding gifts upon his favorite, Piers Gaveston. Although Isabella produced four children, the apparently bisexual king was notorious for lavishing sexual attention on a succession of male courtiers, which eventually turned Isabella against her husband. She took a lover, Roger Mortimer, and began plotting against Edward. When sent as an envoy to France, she took refuge with her brother, who refused all subsequent demands by Edward to return her to England. In 1326 Isabella and Mortimer landed in Suffolk with an army, most of whom were mercenaries. Thereafter, Edward began offering rewards for the death of his wife, and Isabella offered twice as much for the death of his favourite paramour. The invasion by Isabella and Mortimer was successful: King Edward's few allies deserted him without a battle, and Edward himself was captured and forced to abdicate in favour of his eldest son. Since the young king was only fourteen when he was crowned, Isabella and Mortimer ruled as regents in his place. According to legend, Isabella and Mortimer famously plotted to murder the deposed king in such a way as not to draw blame on themselves, sending the famous order "Edwardum occidere nolite timere bonum est" which depending on where the comma was inserted could mean either "Do not be afraid to kill Edward; it is good" or "Do not kill Edward; it is good to fear". When Edward III turned 18, he and a few trusted companions staged a coup and had both Isabella and Mortimer taken prisoner. Mortimer was executed for treason, but Edward spared Isabella's life and she was allowed to retire to Castle Rising in Norfolk. She died in 1358, and was buried in her wedding dress. Edward's heart was interred with her.

-Comrades in Arms by Anonymous at hp_summersmut. (Snape/Lucius. ADULT.) It was ironic, Lucius mused, that a man who had spent so many years in utter loneliness due to the sheer nature of his work, should end up alone in a bleak hospital cell after his work was done. Suitable, perhaps, but ironic.
-gravity's tricks on moons in orbit by inksplotched. (Narcissa/Regulus. PG.) A realization comes to her, with an impact like no other – it's this world she hates, and more, that they know a way to live in it that she cannot quite grasp.

-Stumbling Across the Lines by train_lindz. (Regulus. PG-13.) But he couldn’t do it. Not to his own flesh and blood.
-The Right Question by Anonymous at hp_summersmut. (Snape/Narcissa. ADULT.) Severus Snape detested Narcissa Black. Now, this wasn't exactly a shocking sentiment, since Severus wasn't generally overflowing with goodwill towards his fellow students, and was known to regard some of them in particular with active malice. However, Narcissa held her own special place of disdain, mostly because he was being forced to put up with her.

Real Men of Evil
Today, we salute you, Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland.
Born into the middle gentry, Oliver Cromwell (25 April 1599 – 3 September 1658) spent the first forty years of his life in obscurity, before converting to Puritanism, becoming a member of Parliament as part of a group bent on "godly reformation", and joining in the English Civil War of the 17th century on the side of the Roundheads. Cromwell was the third person to sign Charles I's death warrant in 1649, and was subsequently the head of English campaigns in Scotland and Ireland. Cromwell hated the Irish on both political and religious grounds, and began what many believes amounts to a systematic genocide against Irish Catholics. At the siege of Drogheda in September 1649, Cromwell's troops massacred nearly 3,500 people after the town's capture—comprising around 2,700 Royalist soldiers and all the men in the town carrying arms, including some civilians, prisoners, and Roman Catholic priests. In the wake of the Commonwealth's conquest, the public practice of Catholicism was banned and Catholic priests were executed when captured. In addition, roughly 12,000 Irish people were sold into slavery under the Commonwealth, and Catholic-held lands were confiscated and given to English and Scottish settlers, dropping Catholic ownership of land in Ireland from 60% to less than 8%. On 20 April 1653 he dismissed the Rump Parliament by force, setting up a short-lived nominated assembly known as the Barebones Parliament before being made Lord Protector of England, Scotland, and Ireland on 16 December 1653, a position he held until his death of malaria and complications from kidney stones in 1658. In 1661, following the restoration of the monarchy under Charles II, Oliver Cromwell's body was exhumed from Westminster Abbey, and was subjected to the ritual of a posthumous execution.

Today, we examine you, Idi Amin Dada.
Idi Amin Dada Oumee (17 August 1924 – 16 August 2003)) was the military officer and president (1971-79) of Uganda. During the last two years of his reign, Amin styled himself "Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular". Amin also took tribalism, a long-standing problem in Uganda, to its extreme by allegedly ordering the persecution of Acholi, Lango, and other tribes. Reports indicate torture and murder of 100,000 to 300,000 Ugandans during Amin's presidency. In 1972, he began to expel Asians from Uganda. God, he said, had directed him to do this, although he had also been motivated by his anger at the refusal of one of the country's most prominent Asian families, the Madhvanis, to hand over their prettiest daughter as his fifth wife. Over the years, Ugandans would disappear in the thousands, their mutilated bodies washing up on the shores of Lake Victoria. Amin would boast of being a "reluctant" cannibal - human flesh, he said, was too salty. He once ordered that the decapitation of political prisoners be broadcast on TV, specifying that the victims "must wear white to make it easy to see the blood". One of Amin's guards, Abraham Sule, said: "[Amin] put his bayonet in the pot containing human blood and licked the stuff as it ran down the bayonet. Amin told us: 'When you lick the blood of your victim, you will not see nightmares.' He then did it." Amin was on the losing side of the Uganda-Tanzania War, and he was forced to flee to Saudi Arabia. Amin held that Uganda needed him and never expressed remorse for the abuses of his regime. He died in exile in 2003.
So here's to you, Idi Amin. Your systematic destruction of thousands proves that Euro-centric culture doesn't hold a monopoly on wanton pathological dictatorship.

-Beautiful by Peinture_de_tigre. (Bella/Rodolphus. ADULT.) He inhaled the foul air deeply; he could make out the scent of still-wet blood and just the faintest smell of the beginnings of decaying flesh. Or maybe that was just the smell from the open wounds that would now never heal. The smell of sex still clung in the air, enhancing the deathly combination, making it seem complete. Rodolphus inhaled even deeper; his three favorite scents all in one.
-Expectations by alyxbradford. (Bellatrix, OC Death Eater. R.) Bellatrix stepped out of the alley and fired two Killing Curses at their backs. They fell gracelessly to the concrete, without so much as a moan or cry to mark their passing.
-Family Rules by catsintheattic. (The Malfoys. ADULT.) Draco – always willing to push the limit. Even though the boy’s eyes were blank, Lucius could sense his fear that he’d gone too light on himself mixed with the feverish hope that what he’d offered would not lead to an increased punishment, that it would be enough to atone.

Sirius uses swear words like bread and butter, or like foreplay - Regulus manages to get in a scrappy hit, and spits savage pig, before Sirius levels him (is that the best you can do?); a solid blow to the temple and Regulus hits the floor, hard.

Real Men of Evil
Today we salute you, Emperor Caligula.
Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, nicknamed "Caligula", was the third Roman Emperor, reigning from 16 March 37 until his assassination on 24 January 41. The son of the famously heroic Germanicus and model of Roman womanhood Agrippina Major, Caligula managed to inherit almost none of the positive traits of his forebears. He spent six years living under the guardianship of Emperor Tiberius, the man responsible for the deaths of both his parents and two of his brothers, and was eventually named co-heir to the empire, along with his cousin Gemellus. Overeager to take the reins, Caligula is reported to have either smothered an ailing Tiberius himself, or to have had one of his men do it. Caligula's ascension was viewed by Rome as a blessing, and the first few months of his reign were promising. In October of 37, however, he fell mysteriously ill, and following his recovery, began exterminating rivals and allies alike. The next two years were marked by a contrast of Caligula's public generosity and ambitious construction for the empire with his increasingly paranoid persecution of anyone suspected of plotting against him. By 40 AD, Caligula was styling himself as a god on earth, referring to himself as Jupiter incarnate, and possibly indulging in some deity-inspired incest with his own sisters. One of these, Drusilla, may have been carrying his child at the time of her death; indeed, one report states that Caligula tore the child from her womb, fearing that it would, in mythic fashion, grow up to be greater than its father. One of the most famous examples of his slide into insanity is the account of his attempt to make his favourite horse Incitatus a consul of the Senate. He is also reported to have set up a brothel in the imperial palace, where he forced the prostitution of the wives of senators. In January of 41, the Praetorian Guard led by Cassius Chaerea cornered Caligula and stabbed him at least thirty times. Caligula's wife and young daughter were also murdered; the Praetorian Guard named Caligula's uncle Claudius the next Emperor.
So here's to you, Caligula, and your remarkable standard of lunacy, which has remained unparalleled for almost two thousand years.
